Grandma was off to the old folks' home for her routine "voulnteer session" yesterday. She always goes to teach the old folks how to do all kinds of craftwork. Shall post some pics of her craft soon.
Dr Yaacob Ibrahim (some minister) came to visit yesterday and my dear Grandma had the honour to teach Dr Yaacob her craft! Wow! I haven't been on the papers before; neither have any of my family members! She's the first!
Below are some pics from the local papers. The main text isn't important. Talks about water conservation in recent dry weather. Nothing to do with the pic!
Grandma teaching Dr Yaacob Ibrahim how to thread beads.

Grandma looks so funny with her mouth wide open! Dr Yaacob is elated for what-seems-to-most-of us a HUGE achievement!

After Grandma's mini brush with fame this time, all I can say is
I'M SO PROUD OF YOU GRANDMA!
You know, not many people can do the craft she does.. even for people half her age! I, for one, can't! My hands are like legs and I have utterly zero patience!
Our whole house is filled with her works. From lanterns to all kinds of beaded ornaments, handphone accesories and keychains. Little puppies, turtles, pigs, goldfish, elephants, Hello Kitties, rabbits, snakes, pumpkins etc. etc. You name it, she probably has done it!
Most relatives who come to my place, especially during Chinese New Year swoon and are in awe of my Grandma's skills! And mind you, she only picked this up just this few years! So I am truly amazed at her capabilities!
I never ask her to teach me because I know I would be such an utter failure hahaha! I am more than satisfied to get her to make them for me! Heehee! My handphone accessory is from her hands!
To digress, rain has finally descended on the shores of Singapore! Hallejuah! Although it was still blistering hot this afternoon, it is raining heavily now! Thank God for the showers of blessing! They would definitely provide some reprieve for the dried grass patches on the pavements!

Arrghh!!!!!!!!!!
I just typed a long long entry and the computer hung!! Arrrgh!!
See if I can recall.
Had IA discussion today and it seemed like any ordinary schoolday. The computer lab was packed with people. So were the study benches. Who says Bizaders are slackers??
Not suggesting anything, but after being in mostly girl company for a long time, it is quite a refreshing change to talk with guys. Yes, they talk about girls, porn and sex but at least their conversations are often no-holds barred. At least this is what I think. With girls. it is different. Topics seem to revolve around our latest shopping expeditions, gossips, relationship problems etc. And there is this fear of backstabbing too. Why did she say that about me? What does she mean when she says this? She is so fake. I can't stand it! blah blah blah. You get the drift. With guys, it is possible to hold insightful conversations. How insightful can knowing about a sale get??
To digress, I encountered one incident that happened about a week ago between a girl and a boy at the playground near my place. I was walking home after school.
(In Mandarin)
Girl: What is your name?
Boy on bicycle: Jun Hao
Girl: Ok, I shall address you by "Ah Hao" in future.
Wow! Is this how easily children make friends nowadays? I have grown old. How easily they take the initiative. I really do miss the carefree-ness of childhood. Little worries. No fear of rejection, no worries of schoolwork. And how serious can friendship problems get? Probbaly just the I don't friend you line and all's well after 3 days.. Ahhh!! I love the innocence of children!
Hmm.. should I wake up for soccer tonite?
See if I can recall.

Keeping my fingers crossed now! Let me post this blog successfully please!
First day of the mid term break! Yippee! This has really been long awaited!
No need to wake up before 7.
No standing in front of the wardrobe agonizing over what to wear.
No need to run for the bus.
No need to run to school coz running late.
No need to listen to boring lecturers.
No need to see certain people.
I am tired. Seriously. I still haven't quite gotten over that piece of news. I still can't talk to him like we used to. He asked me last Monday whether I had a date on V day. I was tempted to ask him how he was going to spend his. I didn't, in the end. Why must I ask him for the answer when I already know it?
He also asked me why I hadn't been online for so long. "I haven't chatted with you for a long time." I was a little pissed off when he said that. Aren't I always the one to initiate the chat when we meet online?
Anyway, I haven't been online much mainly due to the crankiness of the computer. God knows how many viruses or Trojan horses have inflicted it. It is always hanging! Not that I am complaining that much. In fact, I am not particularly craving for going online and chatting. I have run out of topics to talk to him about.
I think I am trying to avoid him. Tuesdays have become my most dreaded day of the week. I just can't seem to be able to face him.
Therefore, I am not unhappy that there is no mention of any KTV session or anything. I just want to be alone this week. I have had enough of all the pretentious smiles I have had to put up to hide my unhappiness, if there still is any.
Out of sight, out of mind.

Yippee!! As mentioned in my previous entry, I didn't break my "promise" of checking out VNC. Hahaha! Aren't these shoes lovely? And they only cost me $27.90!! So much cheaper than Charles & Keith or URS! And nicer and quirkier designs too! Oooo.. I can't wait to wear them! =)
Another one of those online quizzes.. Fun but bo liao :p
-Perfect- You're the perfect girlfriend. Which
means you're rare or that you cheated :P You're
the kind of chick that can hang out with your
boyfriend's friends and be silly. You don't
care about presents or about going to fancy
placed. Hell, just hang out. You're just happy
being around your boyfriend.

A sad piece of news came through to me last week. Made me feel pretty down and sad for most of the week. Was in denial too. This is not true. He's just kidding. But heck. I am slowly moving on. I can't turn things back in time and ask all the if-onlys. Too late.
I am coping well.
Anyway, school work is piling up and my CNY would be spent doing work. Bleah!
Meeting at Raffles Place for project tomorrow. Yes! I shall go check out VNC for their oh-so-nice shoes! Retail therapy never fails to perk me up! (:
